Gear Maintenance & Rigging

Here you can find out a bit more of how I can assist you in keeping your gear in top notch condition so that you can feel even more relaxed while you skydive.

From changing a main closing loop, replacing a kill-line, new elastic keepers and others, to a gentle rig wash I am positive that I can help find a way of providing the service your gear needs.

After Inspection

at least once a year

In most countries all skydiving gear undergoes a thorough inspection at least once a year. During this inspection your reserve will be unpacked, therefore it needs to be repacked afterwards, sealed and paperwork filled out and signed. I can assist you with that.

After a Cutaway

It does happen

After the odd chance of having to perform a Cutaway and deploy your Reserve Parachute it is a good idea to have your gear properly checked and only then have the reserve repacked. If I happen to be at the DZ when that happens, don't hesitate to reach-out to me. If on the other hand you would prefer to chill for the rest of the day and have your reserve repacked at a later date, it is also possible.

Periodical Repack

from ca.6 to 18 months

Different countries can have different requirements when it comes to the Reserve Repack Cycle on Skydiving Gear, and some even have different periodical cycles depending if it is a Tandem, Student or regular Sports Rig. Whatever the case I am positive I can be of help, so don't hesitate to contact me.

Small Repairs
Every jump you make with your gear promotes wear on its components in different ways.
Be it by friction of materials against each other or a less subtle touchdown upon landing back from a jump, wear is involved.

Quick Tip: Sunlight is terrible for the materials skydiving rigs are made of, so if you're not jumping keep your rig in the shadow at the very least.

Here is a short example of checkpoints you can periodically go through on your gear:
  • Main Closing Loop
  • D-Bag, Rubber Bands and Grommets
  • Chest and Leg Straps elastic keepers
  • Reserve Loop
  • Kill-line, Bridle and Pilot Chute
  • 3-Ring system
  • Handles - Main, Cutaway and Reserve
*** this is just an example, there are a few more points you can check.

If you are in doubt of the condition of a component on your gear, or don't have a clue at what to look at, get in touch and I can make an assessment and advise you on what to do.
